Shooters rejoice! The EG-CZ Academy is now open!

15. 9. 2022

On Thursday, 1 September 2022, a brand new multifunctional indoor shooting range started operations in the picturesque town of Quimper in the French province of Brittany. One of the most sophisticated facilities of its kind, it serves as headquarters of the unique EG-CZ Academy project, which is the brainchild of Eric Grauffel, multiple IPSC World Champion.

Eric Grauffel's plan was to build a modern training center in his hometown, where he will share his rich experience with the shooting public and the armed forces. The project was first announced in 2019, when this phenomenal shooter became a member of the CZ Shooting Team. Thanks to the financial involvement of Ceska zbrojovska and, consequently, the Colt CZ Group, this ambitious plan quickly began to take shape.

Within 13 months, a multifunctional building with a total area of 2,500 m2 was built in Quimper, of which an impressive 1,740 m2 (60×29 m) is reserved for shooting. Visitors have access to five shooting ranges, three of which are for IPSC training, one for recreational shooting and one for classic target shooting. Plus, of course, the biggest draw and key figure of the whole project - Eric Grauffel himself - is fully at their disposal.

Interest in the new training facility, which is almost without equal, is best evidenced by the fact that one hundred customers signed up within the first week of its opening, and more are rapidly arriving. Yet with the IPSC (Handgun World Shoot) World Championships 2022 quickly approaching, the EG-CZ Academy is not planning a grand opening until December of this year.

For the record, the Quimper range is the first step on a journey whose ultimate goal is to literally build a worldwide network of fully equipped shooting centers, led by the best shooters from the international CZ Shooting Team.
