CZ sponsors the film Zatopek and the KVIFF film festival
The 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF), originally scheduled for 2020, will finally take place in August 2021. Ceska zbrojovka is a proud partner of the festival and the new Czech film Zatopek, which will premiere there.
CZ actively supports cultural events, including the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, of which it has been a sponsor for several years. The 55th edition of the festival was postponed to July this year, due to government measures related to the coronavirus crisis. Despite ongoing security measures, the festival will finally take place from 20 - 28 August 2021.
CZ has been a sponsor of the festival for several years and will also support the new Czech film Zatopek this year. The narrative film by director David Ondricek, is not only dedicated to sports but also to the life story of one of the world's greatest athletes of all time, four-time Olympic champion Emil Zatopek. The film will premiere at this year's 55th edition of the festival in Karlovy Vary.
"It is good that biographical films about significant personalities of our nation are being made. They remind us that a small nation in terms of population can inspire and influence the whole world. We see our support of the film Zatopek as paying tribute to a significant personality from Czech sports," said Lubomir Kovarik, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ceska zbrojovka Group (CZG). "Emil Zatopek, through his diligence and determination, established himself among the best athletes in the world. We see this to be in parallel with our company, which has also worked its way through diligence and determination to become one of the biggest and most successful companies in the industry," Lubomir Kovarik recalled.
