CZ general partner of “450 ml NADĚJE”
As the general partner of the project 450 ml NADĚJE (HOPE), Česká zbrojovka a.s. has supported the recruitment of new volunteer blood donors for haematology and transfusion departments in hospitals across the whole of the Czech Republic. This year, the event was held on the 17th January in the Uherské Hradiště Hospital, on the 17th April in the Vyškov Hospital, and on the 13th and 15th May in the Tomas Bata Hospital in Zlín. Almost 400 blood donors took part in the project.
CZ is proud to have sponsored this event, it saw a record number of blood donors come to the Haematology and Transfusion Department of the Uherské Hradiště Hospital. Where the project is concerned, it was also the most successful place where blood has been donated so far. The Uherské Hradiště Hospital saw 208 blood donors come through its doors, 130 of them were first time donors and 26 signed up for the Czech National Bone Marrow Donor Register.
In the Vyškov Hospital, 95 donors came to the Haematology and Transfusion Department, more than a quarter were first time donors and 23 signed up for the bone marrow register.
In Zlín, 90 donors came to the regional Tomas Bata Hospital, where 7 were first time donors and 26 signed up for the bone marrow register.
Human blood is an irreplaceable liquid necessary to save lives and restore health. In the Czech Republic, a person needs blood every 3 seconds; on average, every citizen will receive a blood transfusion five times in his or her lifetime, and they will also receive a medicine derived from blood 14 times.
