CZ introduces new products at the IWA 2017

The new CZ P-10 C pistol attracted a lot of attention during its European launch at the IWA OutdoorClassics from the visitors as well as professional journalists. This European premiere followed on the successful presentation of the pistol in the United States at the turn of the year and its February introduction in the UAE. In addition to the CZ-P-10 C, CZ also introduced a number of other new products at this prestigious show, namely the Stainless CZ 455, the CZ 550 Safari Classics II and the Brno Express.

The current record trading performance of Česká zbrojovka a.s. (CZ) is the result, among others, of the success of the new generation of CZ weapons. Regarding pistols, one of the most successful is the CZ P-07 compact, the current top of the development series involving SA/DA pistols with a polymer frame and external hammer. When deciding on how to build on such success, the Uherský Brod company has adopted a different strategy. For 2017, they have created a weapon very different from what their customers were previously used to in the CZ brand. The resulting product is the new CZ P-10 C pistol, otherwise known as the compact. In 9mm Luger (9x19) cal., the magazine can hold 15 or 17 rounds (when using a baseplate), in .40 S&W cal. it is 12 or 15 rounds. The CZ P-10 C is a full service and defence pistol, in the first phase destined exclusively for the US market. According to current plans, Europe and other regions will see the pistol on their markets at the turn of 2017/2018.

In the portfolio of CZ, the CZ 455 rimfire rifles have been supplemented by a number of new interesting model versions and the 2017 is no exception. Besides the CZ 455 Thumbhole Yellow sports special with the Flyweight Trigger or the compact version of the CZ 455 Scout with dimensions suitable for younger shooters, there is the CZ 455 Stainless. And this model was presented at the IWA 2017.

The CZ 455 Stainless is a foul weather weapon, complemented by the American style stock made of durable polymer reinforced with glass fibre and the extremely user-friendly soft-touch surface finish. The stock is fitted with a plastic buttplate and equipped with two fixing points for attaching a sling or belt. The calibre selection matches the intended use of the CZ 455 Stainless. Besides the version for .22 LR cal. sought mostly by those who prefer a high quality “maintenance free” rifle for training, fitness and fun, CZ has also prepared primarily hunting versions in more powerful calibres, the .17 HMR and .22 WMR.

In 2005, CZ company launched the CZ Safari Classics programme in cooperation with CZ-USA, its daughter company. The programme is centred on the creation of powerful repeating rifles intended for the hunting of strong and dangerous game. The design is based on the tried and tested CZ 550 model which also applies in the case of the latest addition to this successful series, the CZ 550 Safari Classics II.

The CZ 500 Safari Classics II. rifles are available in two versions. The high lustre model visually following the tradition of bluing has a shellac finished stock, the stock of the matt black finish model is oiled. Both versions are otherwise identical, including the mechanical sights with the typical “African” three blade rear sight. The powerful CZ 550 Safari Classics II. rifles are made in traditional hunting calibres, namely the .404 Jeffery with the magazine capacity of 3 rounds, .416 Rigby (4 rounds), .300 H&H Mag., .375 H&H Mag. and .458 Lott (5 rounds each).

After the incredible success of the rifle/shotgun Brno Combo comes another weapon bearing the legendary name Brno with the capital Z trademark on the receiver. While the previous model was universal, allowing a rapid reaction in any hunting situation, the brand new over and under rifle, the Brno Express, is above all a pure special for a battue.

The Brno Express is a pleasantly compact and extremely quick weapon capable of remarkable accomplishments. The mechanical sights consisting of an aperture rear sight and a red fibre optic front sight significantly contribute to the shooting accuracy. The user can also choose between the classic mount for a riflescope or the modern Weaver rail (Zbrojovka Brno product) which in turn calls for the use of a collimator sight.

In accordance with its primary purpose, the Brno Express over and under rifle enters the market in the powerful 8x57 JRS, 9.3 x 74, and .30 R Blaser calibres. Customers will also undoubtedly appreciate the fact that Zbrojovka Brno s.r.o. and Česká zbrojovka a.s. shall offer this new product in the form of interchangeable barrel bundles for the existing Brno Combo model for all Czech customers.

Amongst other new products, the exhibition stand of CZ also presented the CZ 527 Exclusive Maple Edition with a unique stock made of rare maple of the highest quality. All 50 models of this limited edition have already been sold. Furthermore, there was also the CZ 527 Thumbhole rifle with an attractive ergonomic stock made of laminated wood, especially suitable for varmint hunting, and the CZ 557 Lux rifle in a magazine version.

The IWA OutdoorClassics exhibition which takes place every year at the Nuremberg exhibition centre has been going on for more than forty years. In 2016, there were 1,455 exhibitors (traditionally including CZ) presenting their products in seven exhibition halls. Overall, the exhibitions have been seen by 45,530 visitors from 114 countries. At this year’s 44th exhibition, an area of more than 100,000 square meters held a record number of 1,515 companies from 57 countries, and 49,000 visitors from 120 countries visited the fair. It is interesting that eight out of ten exhibiting companies and about two-thirds of visitors come from countries other than Germany. The IWA OutdoorClassics trade fair has thus confirmed its reputation as a place of important international gathering of companies and professionals with a focus on weapons for hunting, sport shooting and companies engaged in outdoor activities and dealing with safety devices.
