Medal Success of the Czech Team at the Hunting Rifle Shooting World Championship in Namibia

In the days of 8 to 10 June 2016 at the Heja Lodge premises near the Namibian capital Windhoek took place II. World Championship of the hunting rifle shooting. It is a young, but rapidly developing discipline, which rightly gains ever increasing popularity.

This year’s championship was attended by a total of 125 shooters from different countries of the world, from Scandinavia to South Africa, who came to match themselves in competitions between teams and individuals. Shooting was conducted from positions simulating real hunting situations – standing with freehand, standing with support, sitting and also prone position. The targets were either metal gongs, or paper targets with game silhouettes, arranged at distances from 100 to 500 meters.

Czech representation team of six competitors using the new CZ 557 Varmint rifle in .308 Win. cal. won after a thrilling duel of competing teams a superb bronze medal. Shooter Pavel Hruška gained bronze medal also at the individual race in the Senior category.
