Czech shooters won medals at african championship

Team CZ Shooting built on this year’s international successes. The shooters of the team won medals during the last weekend’s African Open Championship in IPSC shooting held in Welkom, South Africa.

Martin Kameníček and Petr Znamenáček became the international champions of Africa in their respective divisions; Kameníček dominated the Open Division and Znamenáček won the gold in the Standard Division.

The world champion in the Production Division, Adam Tyc, was unlucky this time and had to withdraw from the competition after the first day due to severe tonsillitis. However, the Czech fans could still celebrate as all the top positions in that division were taken by shooters using firearms produced by CZ UB and the Czech factor thus played a key role in spite of the absence of Adam.

The African Championship is the most prestigious practical shooting competition held in the continent according to the IPSC Rules. The well organised competition with 26 demanding shooting positions was participated by a lot of leading world shooters among which the members of Team CZ Shooting retained their positions.
