An excellent start of the 2010 season for Team CZ Shooting

Team CZ Shooting scored again this weekend and brought home from Hodonice another collection of precious metals. The team, consisting of the factory shooters from Česká zbrojovka a.s., thereby picked up where they had left off, after their outstanding performance throughout the last season.

On the 10th April 2010, in Hodonice, near Znojmo, the first round of the domestic Czech Super League took place, under the IPSC practical shooting rules, which was attended by shooters from 5 nations. Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod was represented by shooters from Team CZ Shooting, namely Martin Kameníček, Petr Pijáček, Robin Šebo, Miroslav Kameníček, all participating in the Open Division (CZ 75 TS Czechmate pistol), Petr Znamenáček and Zdeněk Liehne in the Standard Division (CZ 75 TS pistol), and also Miroslav Zapletal, Marian Vyšný and Andrej Hrnčiarik in the Production Division (CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow pistol).

The competition in the South Moravian town was the official opening event of this shooting season. Despite the absence of the Double World Champion, Adam Tyc, who will be absent this season for health reasons, the remainder of the team from Uherský Brod were extremely successful.

The weather was not so favourable for the shooters; it was cold and rain alternated with hail and snow. During the contest, the shooters of Team CZ Shooting certainly did not lose their concentration as they progressed through 11 challenging shooting situations. The representatives of Česká zbrojovka a.s. once again confirmed their overwhelming dominance over the domestic scene, with shooters Kameníček, Liehne and Zapletal victorious in their respective divisions, with other shooters from the CZUB shooting programme occupying most of the other prominent positions on the podium.

Seventeen year old Slovak talent, Andrej Hrnčiarik, was victorious in the Junior Production Division. Even with the inclusion of the adult shooters in this division, he achieved a highly commendable 5th place, leaving in his wake a plethora of more experienced shooters.

Overall it is not difficult to conclude that, for the shooters of Team CZ Shooting, this was a highly auspicious debut for the 2010 season.
