Good news came from Guayaquil, Ecuador, from the shooting range where in 2005 the World Championship was held, and the birth place of so far the greatest achievement of CZUB shooting programme. This time it was the Latin American Championship in the practical handgun shooting under the rules of IPSC. The shooting was conducted at 24 stages and the tournament was attended by 200 representatives coming from most of South American countries, namely Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Venezuela, Bolivia and Guyana, as well as several shooters from the U.S.
Latin American shooter of Česká zbrojovka in the Production Division, Mr Ricardo Lopéz, based on the decision taken by the management body of Ecuadorian IPSC was shooting on the Revolver Division (Ricardo was twice the World Champion in the Revolver Division and every golden medal is of course in the interest of the national IPSC organization). The game was therefore entered by another “iron in the fire”, and that was a young Ecuadorian, Mr Galo Moreira, who shoots with the CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow pistol. Galo is also a ward of Angus Hobdell.
In the overall rating of the Production Division, which was overwhelmed by the CZ pistols prevailed member of CZUB shooting team, Mr Angus Hobdell, and that just over Mr Galo Moreira and another American contender, Mr Frank Garcia (Tanfoglio). The Champion of the South America thus became Mr Galo Moreira, because Angus is not a resident of any Latin America country.
