Ivo Hilšer – The Czech Skeet Champion

The Shotgun Sports Championship of the Czech Republic 2011 in Hradec Králové, which ended last Monday, saw the skeet champion in Mr. Ivo Hilšer, a member of the SKP Kometa Brno club and the Česká zbrojovka Shooting Representation team.

The success is even more precious in that the starting fields hosted all the top shooters from the Czech Republic, apart from two shooters (Sychra, Tomeček), who were resting after the European Championship. “I wasn’t preparing for the Czech Championship very much”, declares the new national champion. “I had very high hopes after the training on Friday, when I hit 50 out of 50. Everything went very well even during the very match, I only ‘backed-off’ at the sixth stages on Saturday only. I am very satisfied with the score of 124”.

The results of this young shooter show this season has been his best so far. He did really great in his first international competition – at the World Cup in Beijing, where he missed the nomination for Olympics in London in 2012 “by a nose”. His results were great even outside the main match, at the World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia, where he revived the excellent score from Beijing. And he managed to crown the existing successful season with the title of the champion of the Czech Republic.

Ivo Hilšer shoots the BRNO SKEET Competition firearm. “I have become very familiar with the gun and I will not hear a word against it,” says the young shooter. “I have had it for two years now. We had to give it a slight tuning last year, yet it is working perfect now.”
