Success of Česká zbrojovka shooters on other “fronts”

Not long after arrival of the news from the Philippines about successes of Česká zbrojovka shooters – Mr Momčilovič and Mr Kameníček, the members of the Shooting Representation of CZUB achieved excellent results in Europe – in Belgrade, Serbia and Philippsburg, Germany (Martin Kameníček did very well here after his return from Asia).

Although the best two shooters Kameníček and Momčilovič did not take part in the shooting competition Delta Cup V. held according to IPSC rules in Belgrade as the two of them fought for CZUB in the competition in the Philippines, other members of the factory team did a great job in substituting them. They returned to the Belgrade range of 13. Maj for the first time after the last year's very successful European Championship which was held there. A remarkable return, indeed, both for the CZUB weapons and for the shooters from the CZUB shooting programme. The CZUB shooters always took the first two places in the three most important divisions: Open, Standard and Production. Robin Šebo won in the Open division, followed by Petr Pijáček. Petr Znamenáček, the winner of the Standard division, was followed by György Batki from Hungary; Marian Vyšný (SVK) placed first in the Production division and was followed by Miroslav Zapletal. Other shooters were successful as well: Andrej Hrnčiarik was the winner of the Junior category in the Production division and Svetlana Nikolajeva (Russia) won in the Lady category. And, last but not least, the shooters of Česká zbrojovka did extremely well also in the team competition: they won in the Standard division (Znamenáček, Batki, Liehne) as well as in the Production division (Vyšný, Zapletal, Hrnčiarik and Strýc). The only victory that escaped them was a team victory in the Open division, where at least one more shooter was missing for the team as Martin Kameníček took part in a different competition.

The shooters from Uherský Brod continued the excellent results from Belgrade also in Philippsburg, where a very prestigious competition of the series "Double Crown" 2011 Infiniti Euro Open was held this weekend (9 June – 12 June 2011). Miroslav Zapletal won in the Production division, Svetlana Nikolajeva placed third in the Lady category (both using the CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow pistols). In the Open division, Martin Kameníček (using the CZ 75 TS Czechmate pistol) took the excellent second place when he gave the quadruple world champion Eric Greuffel from France a good run for his money throughout the match. Martin Kameníček lacked only several points to beat Grauffel. In terms of points, no one has got so close to Grauffel for a long time. The performance of Kameníček in this competition – as well as in the Philippines – is a great promise for the upcoming world championship in Rhodos.
