Kometa Brno Shooters Club in co-operation with ZBROJOVKA BRNO, s.r.o. organized this past weekend at the ČSS Brno Soběšice Shooting Range the International Championship covering disciplines Skeet and Trap – „Zbrojovka Brno Cup“. The shooting competition was listed for women, men and juniors.
The first annual of this shooting event was enrolled by 69 competitors in the trap discipline and 46 in the skeet discipline. The prestige of this competition is best manifested by the attendance of the reigning European Champions in Teams (skeet), Mr. Leoš Hlaváček and Mr. Aleš Hutař, and reigning Academic Champions of the World in Teams, Mr. Miloš Slavíček and Mr. Novota. In the course of competition everybody was impressed by promising juniors and the World Championship participants Ms. Libuše Jahodová and Ms. Jitka Pešková.
The race itself was mostly dominated by shooters of organizing body, i.e. Kometa Brno. The Trap A was won by Martin Bořuta and Trap B by Jan Přívara. In the Skeet A the first stand has been occupied by Aleš Hutař of Kometa, in the Skeet B it was Adam Schatz, who was not a member of any team. The Women Skeet event was taken over by Veronika Sýkorová, in the Women Trap the victory was achieved by Dagmar Floviatová of Kometa Brno. Representatives of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic highly appreciated the support of Česká zbrojovka, a.s. and ZBROJOVKA BRNO, s.r.o. that subsidized this international competition with valuable prizes.
The objective of the Kometa Brno Shooting Club, Česká zbrojovka a.s. and Zbrojovka Brno, s.r.o. is that this international event to become in the future a part of the traditional calendar of sporting shooters. Therefore they want to enhance and further promote the idea of ZBROJOVKA BRNO CUP and with an active approach to get it into awareness of not only sport shooters, but also of the wider public.
