At the start of this season, the CZ Shooting Team shooters continued their successes of the last year. They scored points not only in the first round of Czech Superliga but also at the prestigious 8th Munich Championship in practical shooting.
Especially the trio including Havlíček, Tyc, and Znamenáček excelled in the star-studded international competition held on the last weekend in Philippsburg, Germany. Miroslav Havlíček won the Open Division, Adam Tyc won the gold in the Production Division, and Petr Znamenáček dominated the Standard Division. Also other shooters met with success. Zdeněk Heneš finished second in the Modified Division and Petr Pijáček was placed third in the Open Division. The first international competition of this season then points to high expectations imposed on the CZ Shooting Team shooter by the fans as well as the management of the team for the coming season.
The shooters representing Česká zbrojovka won laurels also in the domestic competition, namely in the first round of Superliga 2009 in practical shooting according to the IPSC rules held on 25 April. The competition in Hodonice in Southern Moravia officially launched this year’s shooting season. Despite the absence of some shooters representing the Czech Republic in Munich, the team from Uherský Brod was doing well.
Martin Kameníček was easily the first in the Open Division, Zdeněk Liehne won the Standard Division, and Irena Liehne won the ladies’ category in the Standard Division. Václav Vinduška took advantage of the absence of the double world champion Adam Tyc in the Production Division. A new member of the Česká zbrojovka team Miroslav Zapletal finished just behind him. Also foreign members of the CZ Shooting Team were doing well in the first round of domestic Superliga. Gyorgy Batki, an excellent shooter from Hungary, put up a great fight against Zdeněk Liehne from Uherský Brod and was denied victory by just 2 points. And Andrej Hrnčiarik, a sixteen year old talented shooter from Slovakia, won the junior category in the Production Division. In addition, he was placed fifth overall, leaving a number of more experienced shooters behind him.
It might then be concluded that the start of the 2009 season was definitely a success for the shooters of the CZ Shooting Team.
