At the end of June and July 2012 we saw 54th traditional races at the shotgun shooting at flying targets - Zbrojovka Brno Cup. As has become tradition, the general sponsor of this competition was Česká zbrojovka a.s. Uherský Brod, which prepared for the winner of each category great prizes: the CZ 455 rimfire rifles of their own production and also O/U shotguns produced by Zbrojovka Brno s.r.o.
Event was attended by 244 shooters competing in eleven categories, with some of them using this race as an opportunity for preparing to Summer Olympic Games in London. So in addition to Czech and Slovak representatives, we could see the shooting skills of representatives from United Arab Emirates, France, Norway, Qatar, Australia, Sweden, Austria, Italy, Egypt, India, Cyprus, Algeria, Slovenia and others.
Races were held under extremely high temperatures, when the mercury thermometer went above 35°C. David Kostelecký confirmed his excellent form winning the Trap discipline with the number of 143 targets, second place went to Marian Kovacocy (141 targets) and third to Macek Botsjan with result of 135 targets. Victorious in the Skeet Men discipline was United Arab Emirates representative Bin- Futais Saif hitting 147 targets and that in front of French Anthony Terras with the same number of hits. Third place went to Norwegian representative Tore Brovold hitting 146 targets.
