The cleaning and preservation agent is a light yellow to brownish liquid of high viscosity. It is a mixture of highly refined liquid carbohydrates, anti-corrosion inhibitors, lubricants and other additives. This product has been designed for simultaneous cleaning, lubrication and preservation of firearms. This agent combines several functions – dissolving combustion products in the bore and dispersion of metal particles from projectiles adhered to the bore interior, dissolving any preservation agents used within the bore previously and inhibiting corrosion at its early stages, with subsequent provision of micro layer containing corrosion inhibitors, lubrication components, anti-adhesion and hydrophobic agents. The agent dries up, so the firearm surface treated feels dry on touch and does leave the “greasy oil impression”. The agent dries up, yet it does not dry out, the defined slippage characteristics are preserved.
This agent undergoes two drying up stages.
- The first (faster) one, when the product shows very low viscosity, results in the product overall penetration of the sections treated, followed by intense release of impurities from the firearm surface.
- The second (slower) stage of dry-up results in the increase of viscosity, grease and impurities are solvated to enable their easy and steady removal using a piece of saturated cloth. This agent benefits from the “ice-skating” principle.
Unless the top layer of lubricants has been subject to strain of moving parts, it will remain stiff. As soon as any component has started moving and sliding, the lubricants will liquefy due to the pressure. The resultant surface treatment will repel dust and water. With respect to the very thin protective film formed, the first shot will be affected to a minimum extent only. This agent is friendly to any other part of the firearm – plastic, wood, rubber, optics. The protective anti-corrosion agent works on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Its characteristics providing for simplification of any further cleanings rendered positive response, unlike other firearm cleaning products.
