Czechs Triumph in the Maple Leaf Country

Robin Šebo and Josef Rakušan became IPSC Canada international champions in shooting!

The shooters of the CZ factory team were able to win not one, but two gold medals in the international 2016 IPSC CANADA NATIONALS. The Level 3 competition took place from July 28th to August 1st in Devon, a city near Halifax located in the Nova Scotia province, at a local shooting range operated by the Atlantic Marksmen Association. The skill of 274 participants was tested by 18, sometimes very challenging, shooting stages. Covered and even moving targets were not uncommon, as well as shooting single handed, switching positions and long range shooting. The difficulty of some stages was increased by local legislation dictating a ten round magazine, causing a higher reloading frequency than European shooters are used to.

Even against these odds, Robin Šebo confirmed his position of a favourite. Using his new CZ Shadow 2 handgun, he conquered the highly competitive Production division with a convincing six percent lead. The current Canadian champion, Canada’s own Trenton Sukovieff, who also uses a CZ handgun, namely CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow, and a team of the international CZ Shooting Team, had to settle for third place after a narrow defeat by Alexandre Berdat who came second.

The second successful Czech representative was Josef Rakušan, who reached for gold in the Standard division with his CZ 75 Tactical Sports Orange handgun, followed by Mike Burrell from a total of 63 contestants.

CZ, as the main sponsor of this championship, would like to thank its partners, organizers, judges and all the contestants. Congratulations to the winners!
