Detaily

How and in what age did you started with sport shooting in general and how with IPSC?

My first contact with IPSC was in 2001st…. It was beginning of IPSC sport shooting in Yugoslavia, Serbia. It was some small match in town Zajecar, east part of Serbia. In that time I was working police, close protection, and that day we were in that city… From local police officers I have find that close from us is shooting range and some competition will held there. on my lunch break I went there and after match match director allow me to shoot some stages… After those few stages I was hooked to IPSC…

What do you like best about IPSC?

IPSC shooting is wary challenging sport… We can’t find two times same target situation at any match. Always need to think again and to prepare shooting scenario for each stage we shoot…, guiding to targets position and stage scenario, we need to find best tactic how to do it…., each time, each stage…, and we have only one chance to do it…

Why did you choose CZ?

My first police duty gun was CZ 75, made in 1988…. Perfect gun, all steel… I like how CZ grip fits in my hand, it is so comfortable and easy for recoil control...

How and why did you join CZ Shooting team?

On European Handgun Championship 2007, in France, I have take 8th place overall in production division. After match CZ Team manager, Mr. Milan Trkulja, asked me to join CZ team…. In that moment I was shooting with Para Ordnance LDA gun and it was right time to change gun to Shadow… Also CZ Team support means lot to me, and on next EHC I was 3rd….

How do you prepare for a competition?

I’m shooting on range 3-4 times per week…, each training is around 300-400 rounds. Beside live fire drills I’m practicing lot of dry drills and fitness exercises… Mental part of our stage performance is most important part of stage score… Few years ago on matches I have find that some “things” makes me to shoot perfect and some another make me lot of problems in my head and score goes down… It was same day on competition, same gun, same ammo, same shooting gear…, and score can be changed from stage to stage…... where is problem? That problem is in our mind…., and reason is how we are mentally prepared for each match, each stage and for each target… I have started to read books about mental training and mental preparation…, and results come fast…. Now I use that experience and knowledge to improve my shooting skills.

What is a best advice you were ever given?

Few years ago, on some match, Mr. Milan Trkulja asked me about my shooting score on stages and I start to explain all mistakes I have made until that moment… He carefully listen all my explanations of each mistake and then asked me, did I know what three things each shooter needs to have, to be best one…? And I remember good all three of them…: good gun, good ammo and good excuse…. After that lesson…, no more excuses….
